gDMSS - Location Access

Can anyone shed light on the need for gDMSS to have location access permission under Android 9/Pie? The app will not start if you disable location access

Also recommendations of other viewers would be of interest.

You can use it without giving permission, press next on the first popup. And then cancel on the second.

It works but I get a warning message on cell phone: "Your mobile phone has been rooted, please be careful".
Should I worry?

Nevermind. I think it´s just because I have a custom ROM on my android phone. Strange thing is that gdmss is the only app that gives me that warning.
