Noob, so I did not realize I need a power supply and some type of twist-lock for the network connection.

What are others doing for each?

Is it better to buy a POE injector, for each camera, since I am just starting with two cameras, or better to buy power supplies for each camera connection(will be long distance from outlet)?

Is there a source for the round twist-lock connector to apply before the RJ45 end?

I am now thinking, since the network connection will not be weatherproof, that I will be stuffing that into the mount (DH-PFB203W), to keep it out of the elements and just pray it does not get wet/corrode.

Buy a dedicated PoE Switch (8-port minimum at best) or depends on number of cameras you intend to install.

Your camera should have come with the waterproof connector, although add some dielectric grease at the connector as well as weatherproof seal tape. Silicone works best around the mount area, should be fine as per the elements.
 
Blue Iris is great, can be complementary to your NVR+Camera setup
For unmanged PoE switches, many lean towards the BV-Tech PoE Switches
For managed PoE switches, TP-Link is more affordable (Anywhere between 8-Port up to 24-Port; can choose what meets your needs and budget), however if you're into Ubiquit and want to supplement your existing UniFi setup, their PoE Switches work well as well

The with the camera supplied watertight utp connector is important. Also when you put this in the mount. Only problem is you can't use a prefab cable.

Otherwise I would tape it, with vulcanizing tape like the 3M scotch 23. Important when using this tape is to stretch it out when you turn it around the cable, then it vulcanizes, it's watertight for sure. Best there is.

you dont need the connector..simply wrap the connection in coax/silicon tape.....that is how it has been done for years...even with the connector you should wrap it, they have been known to leak.

That’s true, lol
Also, I’ve come to notice that the connector simply takes up too much space when fitting everything into a junction box. Some still use it as an additional layer of precaution against water ingress, but might just be overdoing it, lol
