I have a nice spot in the brick wall I would to put either a 1831E or 5442, probably the 1831E as I can sit it in the bottom of the plus sign I guess you would call it.
I tried both and there isn't really enough light for even for the 5442 to get good color. So, leaning towards the 1831E as would be easier to mount and not stick out so much.
Also, being a 2.8mm 4k is has a really wide view which I like. I will have a 5A425XA-HNR once I figure out how and where I want to mount it to hopefully get better footage if needed.

do not chase Megapixels. if two cameras have the same sensor (size) and one is 4K(8MP) and the other is 4MP. The 4MP has twice as much light per pixel. In my opinion color at night is over rated.

your camera position is showing to much SKY. For Over view mount it higher.

As always, without movement, preferably humans, still snapshots don’t tell you much.

@bigredfish

Movement is not really required for an over view camera. An over view shows what happened nothing else. No people ID , No license plates.

Well I suppose you can look at it that way, and I’m not talking about positive facial ID.
But if all you get is a ghost and see-through person and cant even tell if it’s a man or woman, or 2 door or 4 door car, let alone rough description, I’m not sure what good it really is...

Yea, true I just liked the location. Would mount on the soffit but the bricks go all the way across blocking what I want. I'll look around some more and see what I can figure out.
I'm just trying to avoid mounting inside the windows. As they don't care here if I mount outside to drill holes as long as I patch/fill them when I leave.
