Hi,

As the title states, my fans are always way too loud when accessing my blue iris server to look at footage or if my cameras detect movement and the AI is running. I have followed all the advice on the forum to optimize my server and my CPU is constantly below 5%. My RAM is at 51%.

Any advice on what to do here? I run code project AI with object detection and face processing.

  • Insure all fans are working: system (case) fan, power supply fan, CPU/heatsink fan.
  • Insure case and system fan, power supply and fan, CPU fan and heatsink are all clear of dust; use power blower to clear out if necessary. I would NOT use canned air (moisture and extreme cold) or compressor air-lines (static electricity, moisture).
  • Check support site for BIOS and/or graphics driver updates; also, the BIOS may have settings for the fan to mitigate some of that noise level.
  • Lastly, depending on the age of the PC, the thermal paste that thermally bonds the CPU to the heatsink may have dried out so the CPU runs warmer than it should. Remove heatsink, clean both the CPU and the heatsink of old paste and re-apply a quality thermal paste, re-install heatsink/fan assembly.

wow, thank you. i didnt know simply cleaning computer fans had so much impact. fans are super quiet and blue iris actually runs better now.

The only issue im having now is when i watch live streams on my phone. This isnt related to cleaning my fans.

The issue:
After watching the group of cameras (8 cameras) after 1 minute, there is a huge delay that forces me to restart the stream. This happens in 60 second intervals.

Any idea why I get these delays? It occurs on individual cameras too.

Here my settings:
