Dumb Question > If I use BI, do I need Edge Storage?

Hi everyone,

Per my first post and the excellent data provided (thank you all so much!), I will be sourcing IPC-T5442TM-AS 4MPs from Andy (I want to support him given he provides cameras for reviews).

In looking at the camera specifications, I see I can add a 256 GB Micro SD for Edge Storage.

Given I plan on using Blue Iris (yet another excellent suggestion!!!), and the research I've done on Edge Storage, am I correct in understanding I won't need any Edge Storage? That is, all my video data will move directly to BI and persisted directly to the Windows box's storage eh?

Yes that is correct. You do not need to store any data on the camera. All the video data will be stored in BI.

But... there always is a But..
Some people record to the camera SD card and to Blue Iris so that have video redundancy.
