Does Blue Iris v4 work w/Home Assistant BlueIrisNVR Add-on?

I've had BI v4 for several years and never needed anything more but have recently begun to experiment with Home Assistant and found the BlueIrisNVR Add-on. I was able to enter the MQTT details into Blue Iris and connect. BlueIrisNVR detected all my cameras and a bunch of binary sensors; however, when the camera is triggered, it doesn't seem to ever show up under the binary sensor camera for motion. I'm not sure whether I'm missing some step or v4 does something differently than v5?

SOLVED: ... BI was sending updates to HA but when triggered from the context menu or from the AI Windows app the status was EXTERNAL so these are showing under the External binary sensor.
