Hi guys,
Long time lurker, 1st time poster
I'm an electrician in Australia, we do a bit of security stuff too.
Have a customer wanting to install approx 12 cams at his property, 6 outside and 6 inside.
Customer would like to disable the 6 internal cameras inside the property somewhat easily, more so, stop recording on demand. Either by switch, remote, phone app, whatever's easy. This is for privacy when they have guests around.... I don't ask too many questions
We have a local Hikvision distributor here, so grabbed a Hik DS-7616NI/16P last week and was having a play around with software. I can't see anyway to stop recording easily
except for using scheduling. Tried using alarm inputs / outputs, no dice.... Tried one key disarming, no dice....
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?
Was considering using a unmanaged 8 port POE switch to run the internal cameras. Then either a switch or remote with relay to turn the POE switch off and kill the internal cameras when required. But not sure if I can implement that to the NVR....
I know it poses a security risk to the customer (disabling cameras), but he pays my bills $$$
Your bunch of smart cookies, I'm sure we can figure something out!
