What is the threshold for?

Sensitivity kinda speaks for itself. Those are Motion based on pixel changes, contrast for the most part.

Threshold if I recall is how much percentage of a square is occupied by a subject.

Hi, did you figure out what the differences are in the firmware, and which one did you use?
I have XVR5116H-X running V4.001.0000001.0, Build Date: 2020-09-08

Is that firmware online newer? The build dates of the one in the DVR is later than the online firmware.
