Can you just reformat a drive without turning recording off first or is it recommended to turn off all recording, reformat the drives, turn recording back on? I've had issues with one of the two purple drives going off line and a while back I got it stable by reseating the cables. It went off line again yesterday and I just did the same thing with the cables and all is fine now but I'd like to reformat the drive too. Thanks for any input.
