Here's a comparison between the built-in mic and an external microphone. I'm playing a youtube clip from my computer with the mic placed on the floor, so not great placement, but you get the idea. There's so much weird noise on the built-in mic, it's horrible. I don't know if maybe I"m peaking the built-in mic.
