Dahua Cam not working in NVR - but is direct

I have a Dahua NVR and 2 x 5231 cameras
I upgraded the firmware of one of the cameras last night and now am unable to access the camera via the NVR
I can add the camera via Remote>Remote but the status remains as the Red Cross

Please can someone send me link to better firmware
or let me know how to get it back working please

But still cant get that camera active via the NVR.
Any other ideas??

done a hard reset - but still cant get green status thru web NVR setup

Login to the NVR, on the registration page where you are getting a red indicator, click the pencil (edit) icon. Typically, its due to the NVR not having the right credentials to be able to itself login to the camera and communicate. The edit box allows you to tell the NVR the camera's correct login/password. Note this does not change the password on the camera, it simply tells the NVR the proper camera password so it van communicate with it.

thanks @bigredfish I couldn't get it to work.
A friend has lent me a different Dahua NVR and with that it all works fine.
When I get the energy will go back and see if I can get the old nvr working again.

Bring up an old thread but after searching and troubleshooting for 2 hours, this helped me today 4 years after posting. Amazing, thank you!
