CPU Usage Question

I think I know the answer, but I'd like to make sure.

When I use UI3 to connect to my Blue Iris machine, the CPU usage listed in Blue Iris varies between about 5-9%. When I use remote desktop to open Blue Iris on the same machine, the CPU usage listed varies between 20-25%. Is that difference because of the remote desktop app running, and not a true CPU figure for BI alone?

Yes, that's about mine as well. Most common numbers that I see:

• Normal state running as service and not much happening otherwise on the machine = ~13%.
• RDP in to open BI = ~22% or a little higher depending on what I'm doing and what's happening with the cams.

It is in some part BI since you're loading up the interface. And as you say the overhead from whatever you're using to do the remote. You can look at things in resource manager to see the CPU utilization percentages in more detail.
