I have a PC I built it in 2011 running the latest flavor of BI with CPU usage consistently 90-100%. I have not been successful in getting this to go down anywhere near what I see others getting (60%) with many more cameras.
The PC includes:
MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel H67 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I52500
SAMSUNG 840 EVO MZ-7TE120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal SSD (on which Windows 7 Pro 64b runs)
Western Digital Caviar Green 1.5TB 64MB SATA 3G 3.5-in. HDD, model WD15EARS-00J2GB0 (for storing recorded camera video)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB 7200RPM SATA 3GB/s 32 MB Cache 3.5-in. HDD ST31000528AS (for storing recorded camera video)
My cameras are:
Hikvision outdoor HD 3MP f:4mm IP dome camera, model DS-2CD2132-I
Hikvision outdoor HD 3MP f:4mm IP dome camera, model DS-2CD2132-I
Hikvision outdoor HD 3MP f:4mm IP dome camera, model DS-2CD2132-I
Hikvision outdoor HD 3MP f:4mm IP dome camera, model DS-2CD2132F-IS
Foscam wireless IP camera, model FI8904W
Foscam wireless IP camera, model FI8918W
Foscam wireless IP camera, model FI8910W
TOP-201 Super Mini 720P HD IP-camera (2.8-12mm)
TOP-201 Super Mini 720P HD IP-camera (pinhole)
Logitech C110 webcam (connected to BI via Yawcam)
I have set the the Hik cams at 15fps and their corresponding video settings in BI also at 15fps. The Foscams do not seem to allow for any "fps" settings and the TOP-201 cameras should be at their default settings.
I'm sure I have left out some key settings data but am unsure what that may be. Any comments/critiques would be welcome. Many thanks!
