The video was a great over view of the pros and cons of using Cloud First vs Local First. The problem(s) lay squarely on the end user as they choose simplicity & convenience over security. 
The irony of wanting video security (Cloud First) only to have less: Security, Privacy, and Control
As I've stated 999999999999999999999999 times here and on the Internets. I want it all to explode and shut down for 90 days to prove any and all Internet based service is complete and utter bull shit. Back in the day there was a real purpose of Thin Client application and resources.
Having the ability to backup information / data to a offsite location absolutely makes sense in every way.
The problem is everyone and their dog have abused the entire concept of the Internet and remote access. The very fact you have so called IT Professionals that affirm, tout, and push all manner of cloud based services from document processing, email, to actual applications?!?!
These are the next generation of retards . . .
One only needs to look how every automotive maker has embraced pay for use hard features?!?! Only a inbred fucktard would agree to having something like their locks, AC, Auto Start, name what ever feature that is literally physically installed in the vehicle to be summarily disabled because you don't subscribe to their gay service!
This is made worse because you have consumers drinking the Kool Aid (affirming) this is such a great idea!
At the end of the day the general public is tone deaf and simply don't care about Cloud First Services. They have been brain washed and raised up to accept this is how the world is and its better than slice bread!

The shear fact there are no less than ten major brands selling tens of millions of security cameras vs Axis, Bosch, Pelco, Dauha, Hikvision, Sony, Mobotix, etc.
