Normally I move most of the Blue Iris directories onto their own spindle for performance reasons. As an experiment I plugged in an old 2GB usb flash drive I had laying around and moved the Blue Iris database to that drive.
I am using bp2008's webpage and the load times of the clips was dramatically faster.

To be on the somewhat safe side, I created a task to copy the database to another drive, once a day as a backup, since it is an old flash drive that I just had laying around.

Yeah, I could put the OS and db on an SSD drive but I would rather put what money I do have onto more cameras at this point in time.

flash drives usually aren't that good for constant read/writes (from my experience), they'll conk over after a while
