I bought a Chinese camera HFW81230E, but it doesn't connect to my intrnational NVR 5216-16p-I

How to connect it to non Chinese NVR ?

Maybe You know: in this case, the region is checked by the ip address of the network where the NVR is connected ?

In this case, some kind of proxy server could help.

Or "checking the region", meaning-checking that the NVR was also made for China?

It can't be done as far as I know. You should avoid the china region cams to begin with.
