Change name on camera and see old recordings?

How do i change name on camera and still see the old recordings in BI.
Now when i change the name, it becomes empty in the recordings, probably because when i change the name it doesnt have any recordings with that name on.

any suggestion?

or is it any option to hide the shortname in the app, i dont want all users to see the shortname, mostly because it looks so messy
