Can someone recommend a good quality inexpensive IP PTZ camera?

I'm looking to add 1 IP PTZ camera to my BI setup. POE is not important, 1.0mp and up, 720p and up, IP66 or better.

Cheers

Eddie

That is a nice cam. and will consider it for my next upgrade. I will add that i need one that is IP66 as it will be on the front of the house without overhang.

thats the only Quality + Inexpensive PTZ I have encountered, anything else pick one: inexpensive or quality, your very unlikely to get both.

Quality PTZ's typically start off ~$300 and top off ~$800, depending on Zoom, IR capabilities, and other features.

You can get quality and inexpensive fixed cameras all day long, the problem is when you add moving parts you guarantee an eventual failure.. movement == friction == wear and tear, so to maintain a level of quality that is able to live the same long life as a fixed camera can requires alot of money on quality motors, belts, gears and electronics... for example I have a very high quality Big Black Face dahua (12x zoom ~$600), and it came with a 2 year warranty.. however, had I put it into continuos motion (panning/touring) permanently, then my warranty was void immediately.

You will probably want to define for yourself what you mean by "quality", if you are referring to reliability that's one thing, if you asking for best image then it's another, but if you titled it "good night quality inexpensive IP PTZ camera" then Mini PTZ v2 is the only option for outdoors

The big features those lack are IR, and because they are domes if they did have IR they would suck.. they do come with IR filters, so you can freely use external illuminators which will prevent alot of issues with bugs/dust/pollen at night.

my only concern with domes outdoors is how much sunlight will they be exposed to? if they never see shade I would expect that plastic dome to start clouding up due to UV degradation after a few years.

well I dont think many people have a valid excuse for deploying 720p cameras in today's age, but if your on a strict budget trying to keep high quality.. then I suppose thats a good counter argument.. you obviously loose image quality at a lower resolution.

What is this camera's primary objective? 24/7 Security? Wildlife? Children/Pets? Weather/Scenery? If its anything other than security, dropping the resolution wont really have much of a negative impact on capabilities.. if your using this for security purposes, you do have alot of Zoom to work with to counteract the lower resolution.. dont expect any nice wide angles, but it would work well watching a door a few hundred feet away... check out https://ipvm.com/calculator and keep the PPF > 100 to maintain identification capabilities.

24/7 Security only, just about the same as yours but will be center to the driveway over the garage. I will add the one like yours under the front door canopy later. This next one has a tad bit better specs or a few more dollars. Is this one a little closer to what you might be thinking?

Search brings back 2 pages of results.

Personally I'd avoid and get a Huisun bullet instead at that price.
