Can it really be done?- Animal IVS/Intrusion push notification to iPhone DMSS app

Good afternoon,

Ive has a bunch of 5442 S3's working great for a year or so (thanks to all of you folks) except animal alerts pushed to DMSS on my iPhone. The animal detection works just fine on the cams (trips and intrusion) but I cant get the notification to my iPhone. It's always been like this since the animal firmware came out. Ive just dealt with it, but now I want to install a cam at my back door and get a push notification to my iPhone DMSS app when the dog is ready to come back inside. Surely someone in this forum gets animal notifications pushed to their DMSS app on iPhone? I posted in the below thread #27 but never got much response and I was hoping someone could help me out. Also, just to confirm, Color 4K-T does not have animal detection, correct, only 5 series S3?

TIA!!

Here is an idea,, Setup the cameras alarms to send notices for that event.. So then when there is an animal detection the alarm is alerted and that event is able to be sent in a notice.. Just make sure that your camera isn't' setup to use alarms for other events so you know that with it being an alarm it must be Animal Event..

Thx for the quick reply. Bare w me please but is this don’t through NVR UI or each cams UI. I’m at my computer now browsing around.

@Revo2Maxx I read in a thread you recently posted in, so I thought I would see if it may help me figure out how to setup alarms like you suggested.

I messed around to setup an intrusion for "animal" as you see from the screenshots under IVS. When I scroll down there is an alarm section and when you hit "more" it generates some options. I checked a few things in that box but I am not really sure how to correlate this intrusion I set to trigger an "alarm" to the NVR/camera which in turn, then triggers the push to my iPhone. There were also settings in the "Alarm" section on the NVR that I really didn't know how to configure to help my cause. On my iPhone, you can see there is i setup what I think MAY be the correct way to receive "local" alarms from the cam push to my iPhone. Thoughts and thanks again!

So not sure if you got it working or not? So I did some testing and I found that I can get push for alarms from Camera to camera, I am not sure if you were able to get it or not?? If it isn't working to get your alerts then 1 other step will need to be taken,. On my 5449 older model camera with everything as you have it setup I have to connect the alarm output wires to the alarm input wires of the camera and if I leave the Anti Dither at 0 I will not get an alert. So I changed to 5. Now I get alerts to email and in Push off the alarm event.. So because I have an older camera I have to use different method so I setup for Face Detection. Didn't enable that in the push but setup my face detection to go to alarm out, Then in alarm in I setup push and email and I get both. I will admit that I get more emails then I get Push so my guess with the new feature you are working with of Animal Detection there will be an update before long that will allow others with feature to enable for push.. Until then this could be a work around to get you by..

I did not get it working unfortunately. Thanks for all your effort but I will prob just have to wait it out until it’s much easier to do and the app is updated w animal alerts. I swear some people on here have said they have it working but I don’t believe it. lol. Thanks again.
