can I install BI5 on a new hard drive and leave my BI4 on my old one

just in case things don't go as well as planned?

I have a blank 4 TB purple sitting in my main box and I had planned to wait a month or so till all the kinks are ironed out but I noticed the upgrade is only available for one month. so can I down load the installer and direct it to the blank hard drive, copy my license and cameras over and run it like that?

It will mess with the registry. The upgrade is available anytime if you are eligible. There is no one month limitation.
