Bluebird hatchling this morning

Our BirdCam caught this hatchling this morning. This is sped up 4X...watch the top egg. At the end it's like the little guy hollers "MA--MA !"

Even though they check out the houses, I've never gotten a Blue Bird to finish a nest in one. The Wrens raise havoc with any nest the BBs ever started...

The wrens don't seem to bother this that I've I've seen and we do have a few. They'll look but won't go in.
Black-capped chickadees do go in but so far, so good.
What is the hole size of the box?
From what I read, it's supposed to be 1-1/2" diameter. Heck, I'd think a wren could get in also, but maybe they don't like a tight fit.....

For the Wrens, I do 1-1/4. For the Sparrows, I do 1-1/2. The Blue Birds always check out the 1-1/2...
