i have a i7 alienware itx set up on my livingroom, i have bi running on the background with the sound alarm on, is there a way of for example, if im watching a movie an the alarm is trigered, can a notification or a small window appear ? Like pip?

BI has a bunch of different alert actions, including one that is 'run an application or script', so at that point pretty much anything is possible if you use the right scripts/third party libs or are good at coding. i've never toyed with this but a quick google search returns libraries like Notifu, Snarl, Growl, etc...
