Blue Iris conflict with display.

I reinstalled BI back on my computer that I reformatted and installed a SSD C drive.
Now as soon as I click Blue Iris and the “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes”
All my graphics goes weird, and unusable, as long as Blue Iris is open.
It’s like everything is washed out – inverse – Xray like.
It worked on this computer prior to reformatting it.
I have my setting at True Bit 32.
Window 7 / 64 bit -
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520
I tried to get support from Blue Iris but cannot get a response:mad-new:.
 
I don't remember requiring to open Blue Iris as "Administrator" previously, but thats how I must open it.

I have a serous conflict somewhere.
 
Try reinstalling BI. I had a similar issue before and that helped. Are the drivers the latest from the vendor or from MS?

On my Win7 machine, it requires you to open as Administrator
 
There was a new update requiring admin rights...
from the manual
By default, when you run the software, you must be using an administrator account and/or answer Yes to the UAC prompt (the one asking to allow the software to make changes to your computer). However, if you uncheck the box for Require run-as Administrator for the console or when stand-alone, you may allow the console (or the application if not running as a service) to run "as a user." When running in this way, the user may not make any changes to the Blue Iris settings or camera properties. In addition, the user will only be able to manually delete and move clips if they have write access to the folders without administrator privileges. Note also that unless you are running as a service, some features may not be fully functional, such as the web server and automatic software updates.The default program shortcut that is installed to Windows runs the BlueIrisAdmin.exe, which guarantees the UAC prompt. You may wish to change this to point directly to BlueIris.exe, which does not require the UAC prompt. In this case, you may always still right-click the icon and select "run as administrator" as necessary.​
 
Are you using a driver from nvidia.com or one from Windows Update?

Assuming you are using the standard Windows 7 Aero desktop theme with transparency ... try opening Task Manager, go to the Services tab, and tell the UxSms service to stop. This service controls the Aero transparency effect -- stopping the service will disable the transparency and make things run in a slightly more compatible way.

Thank You --- Just tried that - It will not allow me to stop service "Access denied"

I tried uninstalling and reinstall even with Revo Uninstaller Pro --- after too many time the License key will not work. Then it takes a week of begging customer service to reset my key - they just did yesterday. But they will not offer any assistance for my problem.
 
It is just one guy running the whole show for Blue Iris, and this sounds more like a general system problem than a Blue Iris problem.

Try changing your desktop theme to something without transparency. This should accomplish the same goal. You may want to save your current theme first if you've customized it at all.
 
The drivers are from the vendor.
I tried many time to uninstall and reinstall, even using Revo Uninstaller Pro until the license quits working - (then you have another problem getting customer service to reset it for you (they might have been out for the last week though.)
I still suspect it is not removing EVERYTHING.

I just use a solid color background, I tried switching to "standard "Windows 7" and no difference
Seems like it must be a conflict with something running.
I wonder if it uses Java or something like that to run itself.
 
Yes - It worked on this computer before I reinstalled the OS.
But he would probably know better than anyone, what might be the conflict.
Could sure use his input right now.
It does seem to be a transparency thing.

I wonder why I can not "stop service" ?
 
This is the problem BI Problem.jpg Bottom is what happens immediately to everything the second I press OK.Open Program (Large).jpg Last one I changed my solid background color to what I normally use. You can see the transparency in the open program.

Most likely you aren't using an administrator account and your security settings are set somewhere high.

That kind of looks like your desktop is switching to a 256 color mode when you run Blue Iris. Right click your Blue Iris shortcut and go to Properties, then the compatibility tab. If any of the boxes for compatibility mode / settings are checked, uncheck them. Most notably the "Run in 256 colors" box. Really the only thing on this page you might want checked is "Run this program as an administrator".
 
I tested the 256 color theory and you are right.. totally screwed my screen. Most likely is the issue the OP has.
 
Yes, and I could totally this compatibility setting getting assigned if Blue Iris was to crash on startup and someone was to blindly let windows try to auto-fix it. Windows' auto-compatibility-fix thing has never helped me.

Darn. Open your nvidia control panel and see what color depth the monitor is getting. You want it set to "Highest (32-bit)".
