Blackout = less data written to disk?

I was experimenting with adding several motion zones and blacking out like the entire sky whilst keeping only the area I want motion detection on.

If I black out the sky, will I save on data written to disk?

Will it also mean more or less cpu used? I was thinking either for "drawing" the black box (more?) or less because BI doesnt have to analyze the black parts?

Cheers!

You should save some resources, but (as others here will remind you) hard disk storage is cheap.

However, do you really want risk not capturing any UFOs.:p
