I am slowly investigating / planning / moving toward a BI-based surveillance system, and I noticed that the BI web site says this about system requirements:
"Recommendations when using many and/or HD cameras:...
7200+ RPM drives and/or SSD drive"
What I glean from many of the threads posted here is that using a SSD for the OS and for running the BI software is common, just as common (or perhaps even more common) is using hard drives like the WD Purple drives for storing the video. Of course, the WD Purple are 5400 rpm drives.
Any comments would be appreciated, since I'll be buying a hard drive to put on my test system that I will eventually move to the dedicated NVR PC (which I don't presently own!
