Best value for money outdoor sensors to work with IP Cameras & Blue Iris?

I have Zotac Core i7 Quad Core miniPC running Win7 64bit Blue Iris 24/7. Have had an X10 CM15A control module combined with MS16A sensors situated in different locations around the home to trigger my ip cameras using BI command scripts & macros. Was working fine until a few weeks ago. Now only my front driveway sensor works. Changed all the sensor batteries; still only front driveway works. And yes, I reset sensor unit #s after installing batteries.

Looking for advice on more up-to-date wireless sensors I can replace this X10 system with. Would Z-Wave be a good option? What do I need & does Blue Iris have any scripts & commands?

As a side note but an important one, for some reason when I try to run Blue Iris as a service, BI command does not work. Another reason why I want to switch to something else.

For wired devices (which the better dual-tech motion detectors seem to be), I've seen posts where folks are connecting them to SeaLevel SeaDAC devices, which then connect to the BI computer.

For wireless devices (like zwave), if they connect to a hub that can perform actions when triggered, BI has a web interface that the hub could notify (via http commands). I think that's covered high-level in the JSON interface section of the Blue Iris help. You can get a rough idea of what the http commands look like by checking out the first reply to this post:
