Yeah used that Classic Shell on Windows 8.0 before. It's good.

This is my planned course of action (maybe). New machine, install 7 Pro & SP1. Upgrade to 10 Pro using the assistive loophole. Then create an install USB key with a clean version of 10 Pro and rebuild the machine (not a fan of updating OS's historically).

Or I wonder would I get away with updating one of my 7 Pro VM's and then creating the key off that to build the new machine?

Sounds like you know what you're doing @essjay...especially the part where you cash in on the assistive loophole causing Microsoft to rethink the Win10 assistive technologies upgrade program thereby shortchanging impaired children all over the world.

1. How you guys are dealing with system being automatically shutdown to install updates? This should never happen specially for server applications like Blue Iris;

2. Anyone using it with Bitlocker?
