I put a couple of cameras in my attic because I keep seeing mouse poop but never caught a mouse. Caught a few videos like this....

The IR attracts the bugs and the bugs attract the bat....same reason why spiders weave their webs across the ring of IR LED's on bullet cams and the like...
I had one flying figure-8's in my back-yard last night...
When I was kid circa '57 to '60 we had one street light down a couple of houses; in the summer we'd be out until it came on, the bats and nightjars (whip-poor-wills and chuck-wills-widows) would be diving after the bugs it attracted.
We'd throw a rock straight up so it'd slow down just near the light and the bats would swoop at it and follow it down almost to the ground. Kids back then amused themselves easily....a step in healthy mind-development, imagination and creativity.... IMO.

I don't get any bats at night, just lots of big spiders, which one of my cameras spends all night chasing around.
