Attempted Auto Theft

Not mine but this was on the local news. This guy breaks out the back window of the truck and tries to steal it in broad daylight. Luckily the owner accidentally left the lights on and the battery was dead. He did get away with her favorite hat though.

The quality from the security camera capture is not very good, but hopefully someone can recognize this low-life.

the lights still look pretty bright and didn't appear to dim as he tried to start it.

i think he just didn't know how to start a manual... (clutch to floor)

or maybe was unable to bust the ignition lock with his key/screwdriver...

scumbag.

Crappy analog camera. Good enough to prosecute if you catch the guy on-site but pretty much guesswork trying to ID someone from the footage unless you recognized the guy, his shirt, AND the jacket he was carrying. Garbage at that distance and lens length for even a mediocre face pic. Too bad.
