Annke C800 Reducing resolution reduces field of view

Hi all,

Annke C800 turret. Reducing the resolution (to one the same aspect ratio) also narrows the field of view. Which I confess I wasn't expecting. Is this just how it is or am i missing something please?

I have no idea what options are available in the interface for that camera, but generally they call this scaling method "skipping" (as in skipping rows/columns of pixels) or "cropping". The desired method that doesn't reduce the FOV is called "binning". Most cameras don't expose an option for this.
