Alerts not working for camera set same as other camera...

I can see motion triggers in the status log, and I can see clips under All Clips... but when I switch to Alerts Only, I can't see any Mailbox alerts. The camera settings are the same for both cameras in the BI Triggers and Alerts tab.

In case anyone else gets a bit dumb like me from time to time.

I went back and started over (turned off AcuPick and Smart Plan) with the Mailbox camera and set it exactly as the Gate camera (I thought). Restarted the camera, then reloaded Find/Inspect to get the latest from the camera, but still no Alert snapshot. Then I copied both side by side and realized I did not have "Appear" checked for Action on the Mailbox camera. Once I checked it, I started getting Alert snapshots again.

I think probably because you have the rule lines so close to the edge of the image. For most other AI modes it wants to see the line crossed so you need to leave a little more margin for that. Appears is the exception so it works in that case with the lines as they are.

Okay... so that's why I see some of these with a bunch of lines back and forth across the image... makes sense.

Intrusion boxes are a little different. You want enough space outside of them for something to be recognized and then seen crossing the rule line. "Appears" also picks up things that aren't seen crossing but appear within. So good to do both in cases where you don't want to distinguish for whatever reason and want everything to trigger.

But, yeah, the tripwire lines zig-zagged like that give you multiple points that will trigger if one line crossing is missed for whatever reason vs a single straight line.
