I currently have around 9 TBs of storage in my BI PC as a second drive. Given that I have 12 cameras, I can only store about 4 days worth of clips with continuos recording. So instead, I use Continuos Sub +Triggered. I would prefer continuos recording, so what are my options? Would an external QNAP attached to my LAN work or does the clip storage need to be internal to the BI PC? Thanks

If you do not have room for more internal disks you can add external disks.
If you have a newish computer with 5 Gbps or faster USB use an external enclosure that contains as many disks as you need. Make sure the external USB enclosure also supports 5 Gbps or faster. My setup has two internal disks hooked up using the built-in SATA interface. I also have an external 5 disk USB enclosure with 3 disks installed. Everything works great for me with around 18 cameras recording 170 Mbps 24/7.
If you have an older computer or do not trust USB then get an eSATA card for your computer and eSATA drive enclosure(s).
