I was wondering if anyone is using an alarm system with hikvision and to start recording when the alarm system goes off?

Spyfly81, You can always add a device to the alarm input of the DVR and configure the camera to record when the device is tripped. Im sure that there is a way to come off of an alarm panel with a dry contact and go into the dvr input. An alarm panel would have dry contacts out that would start a siren and or a strobe light. You have to find that output on the alarm panel which should be a form C, NO NC CO. Once this wired in to the DVR, you could set up push notifications from the DVR, recording of a certain camera, and have a PTZ move to a certain preset, amongst other things.
