I plugged my laptop into the POE port of the NVR and saw that it's only registering at 10mbps? Did they do this on purpose?
7108 NVR POE port only reading 10mbps?

Yes it limited, and 10mbps is fast enough per channel as the max size of cameras handled by the 7100 series nvr
