I turned on the temp reading thinking it might be a good outdoor temp indicator, but apparently it's more of a internal temp gauge. Ambient temps here have been around 90F or so. This morning I noticed the ptz was reading 132F. It's got full sunlight all morning and it's been pretty stationary, not ptzing around. Wonder if that's about normal?

Yes.

Yeah I would think it is normal behavior. These cams run quite a bit warmer than ambient.
