For me v4.0.0.12 finally solved the appcrash when doubleclicking on any clips on the right side.
Correction: it only worked fine once immediately after installation, appcrash still happening with v4.0.0.12
@fenderman: you seem to have a good contact to the developer.
Would you do us a favor and ask him for a regularly updated detailed version history?
It seems to me that half of the comments in this forum are about guessing what may have changed with every new version.

Just got home and found the BI 4 crashed/closed about 7 hours ago..nice....never had this with BI 3. hope they get this resolved .
 
How do I install this over my current version?

I tried a fresh install but it wont accept my Serial Number, Evaluation only

BI4 requires a new licence key...if you hit the upgrade button on the old version you will get a coupon code for half off.

If you purchased a license after 1st December 2014 you are entitled to the upgarde without extra charge.

Personally, if I were in a similar situation... I would assess weather having the new software features\developments justify the extra cost. If they don't seem to benefit me in any major way, then I don't think I would be missing out on much.
 
Hi Lojix,

I think you have a made a valid point here.
Version 4 runs a little smoothly on my PC, minus the bugs.
Version 3 is stable.
As I only recently purchased V3 in AUG14 and just can't justify forking out another $40 at this stage.
Credit to the developers for their hard work.
I think this should be a $10 upgrade, not $40. Call me a cheap skate, just my 2 cents
