Hi All,

I'm strugling to get working my 2x Hikvision Cameras with the NVR 7608NXI-K2. I bought a pair of rj45 splitter as shown on the picture and connected as shown ( pic2)

However it does not work at all. I'm wondering if this nvr is able to work in this setup ? Can someone confirm ? Or maybe there is a setting on the nvr that I miss ? As I do not see any power entering the ports when the splitter is connected. Single cable connection nvr-camera works perfect.

Thank you for any advice.

I had trouble making it work on my Dahua NVR using its built in PoE ports. I added an external switch and plugged both cameras into it and they work fine

I tried both ways, different unit but same type. I think mine had two positions, each was supposedly better for certain brands of cameras, but it made no difference in my case.

does the mode a or b mathers here when using such spliter ?
Absolutely. Mode B needs all 8 wires so the splitter won't work. Most POE switches use mode A, but maybe the NVR uses mode B?

Mebbe, mine wouldnt work either way with the NVR ports, works fine with an external switch. This was repeated in two locations

Update.
ehter mode a or b did not work. I've bought a poe switch as advised. Works perfect now. It looks like the Hikvision NVR is not able to handle 2x cameras on 1 link with rj45 spliter. Solution PoE Switch :)

thanks ALL !!
