***PSA for those with a New DAHUA NVR with Built-in PoE switch

Curious what I’m doing wrong. I’m using DMSS app, which works fine if I’m at home on WiFi, but how do I view cameras remotely from DMSS app if I’m away from home like on vacation.

    Camera placement

Ok dumb question, I haven’t made any changes to settings, they say do it from the camera and not the NVR. How do you get straight into camera, without going through NVR or viewing app. Not sure how you go about doing this.

    Camera placement

So I have 4 cameras and have two installed on my garage. One camera will be placed inside the garage, but where would be good place to install 3rd camera so that I may view this side of garage. I tried over door but didn’t really like the view, tried on corner behind other camera looking down...

Now all I need to do is hook up the other cameras and get them mounted. Then setup the cameras, the alerts, etc. I hope the hardest part is behind me. Any tips going forward with the camera settings and alerts??

Assistance setting IP settings and Dahua NVR for remote viewing

I can’t get this step Open a browser on a PC on your network (again assuming a standard home network of 192.168.1.x) and type 192.168.1.108 and hit Enter. You will go to the WebGUI interface of your NVR. This is how you will manage your NVR from now on.
