Viofo Bluetooth Remote Control working unreliably

Thank you TonyR, I will give that a try. I have also contacted Viofo support. They want me to upload a video of the problem.

Viofo Bluetooth Remote Control working unreliably

I have just installed a Viofo VS1 dashcam together with the wireless Bluetooth remote control button. Bluetooth pairing of both devices worked perfectly, but the connection has funny problems. When I start the car, the button may work ... or not. I do a new pairing and it works on the first...

PTZ no longer working for my IP2M-841-V3 from Onvier App after DST change / Firmware bug?

I have 3 Amcrest IP2M-841-V3, that I'm also using with the Onvier App. After the recent DST change, that changed the time in Germany from GMT+1 to GMT+2, the PTZ control from within the App did no longer work. The logs showed theses errors: "Wsse authorized time check failed." but as the time...

IR Light turns on every 5 min at night (Amcrest IP2M-841-V3)

Thank you for your thoughts and answers. I brought the cam from the garage to my desk and did the following: gave it daylight --> keeps rebooting disabled "Auto Reboot" --> keeps rebooting use other PS (3,0 A) --> keeps rebooting set it to "Factory Default" --> keeps rebooting I hardly can...

IR Light turns on every 5 min at night (Amcrest IP2M-841-V3)

Thank you, will try another PS and a factory reset as well. Cam has no internet access, so DDoS is unlikely. WiFi connection is usually sufficient, but not optimal. So I already considerd the recent solar storm to interfere here. Wild guess.

IR Light turns on every 5 min at night (Amcrest IP2M-841-V3)

Thank you wittaj. I just remembered the camera log and found out while looking it up, that the cam is periodically rebooting, thereby obviously turning the light on/off. So what might make it reboot over and over again? Poor power supply?

IR Light turns on every 5 min at night (Amcrest IP2M-841-V3)

I got an Amcrest IP2M-841-V3 in the garage, that at night turns on the IR light every couple of minutes. The time varies between 4 and 10 minutes about. I know this because this triggers another camera (Blink mini) to start recording a video. So every night I end up having lots of clips from...

    App recommendation

Thank you Tony. I checked Nogosoft and they write: "The (personal) Data is processed at the Owner's operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. " They don't disclose, where this is, but probably China. I'm wary regarding software...

    App recommendation

I got 3 Amcrest IP2M-841-V3, that I operate only within my private network (no internet access). With my Android phone I use the Onvier App to monitor the cams and I am very satisfied with it. Unfortunately the App is not available for iOS. Can anyone recommend an equivalent free...

Thank you Gary. Favicon Changer for Edge did the trick. :thumb:

    favicon.ico for Amcrest IP2M-841-V3

Is there a way to place the file favicon.ico in the main directory of my Amcrest cam IP2M-841-V3 (ftp or such?), so that the image would show up in the browser tabs and next to the favorites?

    Amcrest IP2M-841-V3 AP Roaming

Thanks for your suggestions. :thumb: I'm using Onvier on my mobile phone to check the cams. I think it would fail when that garage cam would have another network. I have created a shortcut to reboot the cam (192.168.178.222/cgi-bin/magicBox.cgi?action=reboot ) when I notice, that the cam has...

    Amcrest IP2M-841-V3 AP Roaming

Thank you Tony. Yes, that's the prereq for a mesh network. Two different SSIDs result in two different networks, making it harder to manage the cams.

    Amcrest IP2M-841-V3 AP Roaming

Although there is a close repeater (mesh network) my IP2M-841-V3 sometimes prefers to connect directly to the router and the connection then is worse as it would be with the repeater. I can't see that the cam supports Access Point Roaming. Question to Amcrest Support: Is there any chance that...

    IP2M-841-V3, modify for external aerial

I tried ... but finally gave up on it as it became too hot and the effort seemed not worthwhile in the end. The WiFi circuit is in the cam head, the antenna can be seen on the 1st picture (silver piece of bent sheet metal).

    IP2M-841-V3, modify for external aerial

Hi Tony, thanks for your reply and the tips. I've done surgery on this cam before (IP2M-841B-V3: tilt is stiff and jerky) and I've also done that aerial modification on my previous HooToo HT-IP211HDP cams successfully. There it was obvious where to connect the pigtail and I was wondering, if it...

    IP2M-841-V3, modify for external aerial

My IP2M-841-V3 is located in the garage and the wifi-connection is critical. Im considering to modify the cam with (a connector for) an external aerial to improve the connectivity. Before I do my surgery I wanted to ask if anybody has done that already and may share some tips and experience?

Why are IR-Leds switched with Relay?

Ahh, interesting. Thank you. Fastes answer ever. :)

Why are IR-Leds switched with Relay?

I had various cams now (Hootoo, Amcest, Blink). Every time the IR-Leds are activated on any of them I hear a "click", indicating that the leds are switched by means of a relay. Why is that and why don't they switch silently with a semiconductor?

Firmware updates but no change logs

    Reboot Shortcut?

I just learned from AVM, that WLAN Mesh Steering could be used with the Fritz!Box, if the cams would support WLAN-Standards 802.11k and 802.11v . Unfortunately the don't.

Thanks. There is no blacklist with the Fritz!Box router. It can be done though, but by pretty awkward way.

Yes, but Edge strips of the <userid>:<password>@ part. It seems to work with Firefox though. :thumb:

    Reboot Shortcut?

Great! Thank you! Exactly, what I was looking for. Just tried it but passing the credentials didn't work. Was prompted for userid and pw, but with the option, to save the password. I remember, that windows or the browser does no longer allow passing ui&pw that way for security reasons.

    Reboot Shortcut?

My IP2M-841B-V3 occasionally connects directly to the distant router instead to the near repeater. This can be fixed by a cam reboot, but as the signal is very poor now, it is a torture to go thruogh the menus in order to trigger the reboot. Is there some shortcut url containing ip, userid and...

IP2M-841B-V3: Power Consumption and Power Supply Performance

Fwiw, I did some measuring on my IP2M-841B-V3 cams and I want to share the results with you. First I checked the power supply (rated 5V/2A) that came with the cam and measured voltage while changing the load (or current): 4,8 V at 1,0 A 4,6 V at 1,5 A 4,0 V at 1,8 A For comparison, I also...

IP2M-841B-V3: tilt is stiff and jerky

Hello Carlos, thank you, I contacted the support and the Product Support Specialist responded yesterday and told me to do a hard reset on the camera. I think you agree that a hard reset is most likely not appropriate to fix obvious mechanical problems. Meanwhile I have repaired the cam and...
