Don't be sorry. I've got my DB1 working as intended, and that good enough for me. Sure, experimenting mostly results in trouble but that how we learn and keeps us busy ;) .

What the problem exactly was i'm not sure. The app recognized the DB1. It ran through the setup but did not add it to hik-connect. I repeated this procedure several times. I had a simular problem with a hikvision camera on hik-connect. To make that work Hikvision support had to do something on...

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the SSIDs. This made definatly a difference. Unfortunalty i did not succeed in adding the DB1in the hik-connect app. As a last resort i added the DB1 back in the Ezviz app. During the adding process the question is ask what chime type is used. Behold...

Changing parameters via the BC is my preferred way. But the parameter to change the chime type isn't available in the BC. That's the whole point of using hik-connect or Guardian vision app. As other users pointed out in these apps this parameter should be available.

OK, i deleted the DB1 from the Ezviz app. and installed the hik-connect app. After adding the DB1 via the QR code it says "the device model is not supported". I did the same with the Guardian vision app.. It says "Operation failed (102030)". I'm getting annoyed by this. :mad:

What Hikvision app exactly do you use? Searching on "Hikvision" gives me about a dozen apps in the play store.

You are aware that this is not a (full) reset of the device. It only sets some of the setting to default values. Other settings are unaffected and can still be the remains of the previous firmware. I experienced this with the user management and video display option. Probably some more options...

With point 4. you mean the option under system management - restore default settings? or do you mean pushing the reset button on the device?

Thank you; That was the answer i was looking. I assume the option is not only displayed but also works in your setup. Another question; if you're running the Hikvision firmware and using the Ezviz client app. what firmware gets offered when a new one comes out; the hikvison one or the Ezviz?

My Ezviz DB1 is currently still original. A nice feature of this firmware is the option to turn on/off the outdoor bell sound. Do the onvif firmwares also have this option or is this exclusive to the Ezviz?

I noticed that your frame rate (stream 0) is 30 fps. Are those real frames or is this an ONVIF perk? The full frame frame rate of my DB1 is 25 fps.

I don't mind. The world is bigger than our common taste doorbells and its petty problems. And it puts "a friendly face" on your tiles.

I think you're on something with this. Especially on the 2.4 GHz the field strength of both my AP's are "strong" enough to make a reliable connection possible. I once witnessed that the DB1 switched over to the AP with the lower field strength. Why it did this I have no idea. On the other hand...

I didn't upgrade yet. In the current Ezviz firmware it is not possible to choose a soundfile to play when the button is pressed. I think the other OEMs don't have this option either. Would be nice to have.

And another remark: Looking at the firmware naming it appears already a month old (20/02/2020). At least the Hikvision version dates to 21/03/2020.
