New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

According to this site the DB2 uses a 6400 mAh Li battery or can be fed with 8-24 VAC but has only 2.4 GHz wifi (which doesn't have to be a problem). https://www.mwave.com.au/product/ezviz-db2-wirefree-smart-video-doorbell-ac23637 I wonder how long that battery will last. According to the site...

Don't be sorry. I've got my DB1 working as intended, and that good enough for me. Sure, experimenting mostly results in trouble but that how we learn and keeps us busy ;) .

What the problem exactly was i'm not sure. The app recognized the DB1. It ran through the setup but did not add it to hik-connect. I repeated this procedure several times. I had a simular problem with a hikvision camera on hik-connect. To make that work Hikvision support had to do something on...

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the SSIDs. This made definatly a difference. Unfortunalty i did not succeed in adding the DB1in the hik-connect app. As a last resort i added the DB1 back in the Ezviz app. During the adding process the question is ask what chime type is used. Behold...

Changing parameters via the BC is my preferred way. But the parameter to change the chime type isn't available in the BC. That's the whole point of using hik-connect or Guardian vision app. As other users pointed out in these apps this parameter should be available.

I flashed the hikvision firmware and gave a reset (via BC and inside the config). Adding via the QR code still doesn't work. Added the DB1 via manual adding". This worked, i can see the camera feed. But where can i find the settings of the doorbell? I noticed the hik-connect app is dated may 06...

OK, i deleted the DB1 from the Ezviz app. and installed the hik-connect app. After adding the DB1 via the QR code it says "the device model is not supported". I did the same with the Guardian vision app.. It says "Operation failed (102030)". I'm getting annoyed by this.

What Hikvision app exactly do you use? Searching on "Hikvision" gives me about a dozen apps in the play store.

@Emiks5 @phatboyj Good call, i will try Guarding vision and see if its a matter of changing the chime selection.

The DB1 and the relay that activates my doorbell is hookup to the 12 VAC. Which has always worked fine. I think they removed the chime type selection a few version of the (Ezviz) app ago. What's suspisious is that the Ezviz app just recently got updated (V4.3.1.0424). Below are the options...

Well, it looks like my DB1 failed partially. Everything seems to work like it should. I can see the rtsp stream. I can log into the DB1. Except whethat the DB1 doesn't make the doorbell ring. If i press the DB1 the blue ring start to blink slowly and return solid after a few seconds (i guess...

Well, it looks like my DB1 failed partially. Everything seems to work like it should. I can see the rtsp stream (in VLC and my NAS). I can log into the DB1 via BC. When the DB1 is pressed the app give a message. That all seems OK. What's not OK is that the DB1 doesn't activate the doorbell when...

You are aware that this is not a (full) reset of the device. It only sets some of the setting to default values. Other settings are unaffected and can still be the remains of the previous firmware. I experienced this with the user management and video display option. Probably some more options...

With point 4. you mean the option under system management - restore default settings? or do you mean pushing the reset button on the device?

Thank you; That was the answer i was looking. I assume the option is not only displayed but also works in your setup. Another question; if you're running the Hikvision firmware and using the Ezviz client app. what firmware gets offered when a new one comes out; the hikvison one or the Ezviz?

My Ezviz DB1 is currently still original. A nice feature of this firmware is the option to turn on/off the outdoor bell sound. Do the onvif firmwares also have this option or is this exclusive to the Ezviz?

I noticed that your frame rate (stream 0) is 30 fps. Are those real frames or is this an ONVIF perk? The full frame frame rate of my DB1 is 25 fps.

I don't mind. The world is bigger than our common taste doorbells and its petty problems. And it puts "a friendly face" on your tiles.

I think you're on something with this. Especially on the 2.4 GHz the field strength of both my AP's are "strong" enough to make a reliable connection possible. I once witnessed that the DB1 switched over to the AP with the lower field strength. Why it did this I have no idea. On the other hand...

Hi David, My network is less sophisticated. I'm currently using 2 Netgear R7800's, one as my main AP-router and the other as dumb AP. Both connected trough copper and serving a separate floor. Although the "quality" of the network is an important factor i think there are issues with the DB1...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Although i have connection problems with my NAS/NVR the Ezviz app always worked flawless (almost no delay and a high quality picture). Also looking for a long time at the rtsp stream via VLC show no interrupts (even when a disconnect takes place). I have a suspicion that a client on my network...

I also experienced all of a sudden disconnects of the DB1. It had functioned perfect for weeks before. Unfortunately I changed several things in my network setup in that time, so identification of the source was difficult. Eventually I ended up replacing my main router (Turris Omnia) for a...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Just some observations: The DB1 is in essence just a switch like your old doorbell. It should not and probably can not short out a transformer. I don't know the situation in the US but in EU we use so called doorbell transformers. When the doorbell is pressed you practically short out the...

I didn't upgrade yet. In the current Ezviz firmware it is not possible to choose a soundfile to play when the button is pressed. I think the other OEMs don't have this option either. Would be nice to have.

And another remark: Looking at the firmware naming it appears already a month old (20/02/2020). At least the Hikvision version dates to 21/03/2020.
