Blue Iris CPU/GPU for mainly remote viewing

I guess I can only give it a go. I checked for a similar system on the performance page and it looks like a XEON 1280-V3 can handle several cameras.

Blue Iris CPU/GPU for mainly remote viewing

Thanks, I was basically aware of the substreams and the CPU benefits. I still want to record mainstreams and I believe this is possible (and viewable in a single window). I sometimes need the resolution to detect number plates manually but substreams will be fine for multi-camera views. I have...

Blue Iris CPU/GPU for mainly remote viewing

I'm sure many parts of this question have been answered across many posts but I'm trying to get an answer all in one place. I am planning a new Blue Iris system which will replace a Swann NVR. I can access the 7 surviving Swann cameras on RTSP and I plan 3-4 new IP cameras. I have available a...

Swann NVR-8580 as POE Switch Only

Thanks for all the advice, I still need to source a PC for a permanent Blue Iris setup but once I do that and get some spare time I will share the results.

Swann NVR-8580 as POE Switch Only

Thanks, I have tested RTSP direct to the cameras and via the NVR-8580 before so I know that part works. Bandwidth was probably my main concern and it seems that will be OK for 7 cameras. I will try it with the HDD removed just to save on power but if it beeps then I can always put it back.

Swann NVR-8580 as POE Switch Only

I have an 8-camera setup with Swann cameras and an NVR-8580. I would like to move over to Blue Iris. I was thinking of just disabling recording in the NVR-8580 and using it basically as a POE switch which would also have the ability to change settings on the Swann cameras if needed. All cameras...

    **UPDATED**SUCCESS**CRACKED*Swann PROPRIETARY camera-can't see it on the network-Swann SWNHD-865MSB

I tried a few more things just to test the camera connection. Using the Swann Device Configuration Tool, I can at least change the camera IP address, HTTP port and Static/DHCP setting. After a few seconds the camera restarts and has the new addresses. I changes to a different subnet...

    **UPDATED**SUCCESS**CRACKED*Swann PROPRIETARY camera-can't see it on the network-Swann SWNHD-865MSB

I noticed Port 85 used in the Swann NVR - tried it but no luck with HTTP or HTTPS.

    **UPDATED**SUCCESS**CRACKED*Swann PROPRIETARY camera-can't see it on the network-Swann SWNHD-865MSB

I've got a Swann NVR with 8 * NHD-865MSB cameras. I'd like to get rid of the NVR and use the cameras with Blue Iris or something similar. So far in trying this out: - I have connected the camera directly to a PC (via a POE adapter) with its Ethernet port set to 172.16.1.10. No router, just...

POE IP Camera on Google Home Google Nest Max etc.

Thanks, that one looks promising and cheap too? Do you happen to know the POE spec as I will need to purchase an adapter or a small POE switch?

POE IP Camera on Google Home Google Nest Max etc.

I am looking to put a Google Nest Max or similar device on the kitchen bench where it will be easily viewed to monitor camera placed in parts of our property which are not easily seen from the kitchen area. My preference is to use POE IP cameras (Milesight, HikVision, etc. I'm not tied to any...
