Intermittent data feed from IP Cameras

Thanks for suggestion of the dielectric grease. DOn't think corrosion would be an issue here as all components were new. Grease has now been used since we got the systems / connections working so hopefully they will stay working! Great news on the BB chicks - lovely to hear. Most of my nest...

Intermittent data feed from IP Cameras

Am pleased to report a successful update to this issue. I managed to obtain some new RJ45 connectors (Klein) and when these were used in place of the connectors I have been using fro several years, all connections came live. All cameras are now live on Blue Iris and all we now need are some...

Intermittent data feed from IP Cameras

Thank you for reply. Yes, I did make a list of the MAC address for each camera and linked that tot he IP address the router gave first time around. Looking at the IP table on the router, I can see the "missing" cameras have the IP and MAC addresses are shown as "not connected" and these are...

Intermittent data feed from IP Cameras

I am trying to install 8 POE IP cameras in wall mounted nest boxes (for swifts Apus apus) and am having difficulty registering some of the cameras on the network. The cameras are 5Mp, Sony sensor, POE units from "AliExpress" and show up as "Foscam - F186xx/98xx compatible" when interrogated in...

    Camera time not synchronising

Thanks again for all replies and generally increasing my knowledge of networking....it certainly needs improving!! Having looked at the various options my basic problem stems from not thinking it all through 10+ years ago when the first Ethernet cable went in..... Only two of the cameras...

    Camera time not synchronising

Many thanks for you prompt response and information therein. I think I will have to look into a second NIC for the BI machine. Can a second NIC share the same unmanaged switch? With my limited knowledge of VLAN, I believe these meed to have managed switches and as there are 8 switches around...

Remote viewing of single camera in it's own group

Am pleased to say that I am now able to see my pond camera as an individual group and so can the grand-kids....brownie points for me! However, i would now like to avoid the "security" warnings that FF and Chrome give out when accessing my site. I have installed stunnel and set up a port...

Remote viewing of single camera in it's own group

Thanks for comments. Am not using a VPN and can access all cameras in BI when I log in with my user and pass when out via the static IP. My issue was that I could not access just the pond camera and I would prefer the grand-kids not to be able to change everything!! I can make enough errors...

Remote viewing of single camera in it's own group

Thanks Tony, Will try this. One further question if I may, is their an easy way to switch webcasting for a particular camera on & off? I ask as don't want grand-kids looking at pond when they should be asleep etc!! I know I can go into BI and untick enable webserver but hat seems rather...

Remote viewing of single camera in it's own group

Wondering if anyone can help me here please? I am running 16 cameras on BI v5..7.8.2 x64 without any issues. My grand-kids (in two different locations) would like to be able to remotely view my pond(!) and I do not seem to be able to get BI to allow this. I have made a group which only has...

    Nightime is daytime?

Using BI v5.7.7.3 to send an alert when camera senses motion so that an external light is switched on via Homeseer HS4. Using the following syntax in BI - "192.168.x.xxx:80/JSON?&request=runevent&id=848". The event is configured as below The problem is that the light switches on even during...

    BI "holding "MAC address?

Tony, Thanks for reply. I have a pool of IP addresses I bind to the MAC addresses reserved on the router - I keep a small pool available for visitors etc. I like the idea of the last three digits in the name - would save me looking up the ARP table each time I have a query! I suspect that my...

    BI "holding "MAC address?

Am not sure if the title is the correct terminology. I had an EZVIZ DB1, with a fixed IP address allocated by the router, storing video through BI (5.6.8.4) without any issues. As my house is blessed with thick walls, the Wi-Fi connection to the DB1 was patchy so I decided to replace same...

    SeaMAX.dll is missing

@tmushy - never did find a solution. Even did a clean re-install of the software to no effect. It still happens every time I start up the programme from scratch even thought he file is present and in the correct folder. Am not aware that this fault stops the programme from working, but what do...

    TUYA POE Doorbell

@flynreelow - thanks for this and the video link - pity I am using Homeseer as I have yet to find a way to get local control! I need to investigate further - just seen a link on the Homeseer forum which might sort it out for me. Am wondering if this is a Yoosee brand? Wireless smart HD video...

    TUYA POE Doorbell

@sebastiantombs - Thanks for this - had no idea the "boobie" cams existed! Seems like a good solution. I would need to make up some kind of a mounting brackets as the front door / porch has about a six inch protrusion all around so mounting will be a challenge. I would not wish to drill holes...

    TUYA POE Doorbell
