The DS-2SF8C442MXG has every one of these traffic features that they list for the G1 but NOT for the G. You can even whitelist and blacklist up to 10,000 license plates. Was a little bit of a surprised to see this in the VCA application menu after firing it up for the first time.
Tracking is...
The DS-2SF8C442MXG arrived today. I gave up trying to acquire the updated DS-2SF8C442MXG1. There were no legitimate sources that have the camera and the shady ones were still saying 60 to 90 days lead time. I'm not convinced it has actually shipped. There's not a single review or discussion from...
Looking for the DS-2SF8C442MXG1 which is the updated version of the DS-2SF8C442MXG which has a massive update on AI recognition and tracking features. It's not yet available in the US and Hikvision USA, as expected, says they have no ETA.
Anyone have any experience with hikdistrubution.com?
Would really be awesome to hear some feedback from anyone who has either of these cameras. I can't find a single report from any user anywhere in any community setting that has claimed to have ever bought this camera.
Unfortunately, the global version doesn't come with a USA warranty and isn't available from USA distributors.
Also, the panoramic camera sensor is significantly smaller on the G1. Supposedly they compensate for this with improved AI processing. I'd rather have the larger sensor. Still, I'd...
Can anyone verify that this would work for the DS-2SF8C442MXG-ELW? I realized the model was never specified. I tried to access the guest camera but that IP address doesn't work and even the stream URLs don't play in VLC after inserting the second "/".
Very nice. Just ordered it. Can't wait.
I also ordered new caps for the ones that blew on he power supply board in the old camera. It's too valuable and good to not try and fix.
So does this mean you got both main and sub streams for both cameras working? i.e. Two mains and two subs?
Looking at the DS-2SF8C442MXG-ELW but only if it's going to work properly with BI.
What is the decent price that you saw? Looking at this camera myself. One of my DS-2DF8236I-AEL died after 7 years. These retailed for $3500 but I got two open box units from an authorized USA Hikvision dealer for $1100 each. Verified US product with Hikvision US support.
This camera looks...
I have two of these in my 21 camera setup. They are the work horse trackers on the front of my house and have been flawless for years. I bought a newer version of this camera several years ago, the ds-2df8236i5x-aelw, which has crappy tracking by comparison. Hikvision had some sort of patent...
That's why I said on-prem which usually doesn't have a subscription. Rekognition is still reasonably priced with 5000 images for free in tier and then $0.001 per image for the first million images in tier 1. For my purposes, the free tier is fine since I only hit 3 to 4k motion events per month...
Code Project is like an old dinosaur compared to other on prem solutions available today. The world of AI has exploded with quantum leaps in just the last couple of years yet Code Project is virtually unchanged. I'm still using Beta 2.0.8 and just looked at the release notes to see if there were...
That's irrelevant. The temp at any time will not be effected by anything longer than about 30 minutes prior.
That said, I'm going to swap out a thermostat for an activation of 105 degrees (current is 95). The camera is perfectly safe occasionally reach 110F. It's speced for 122F.
Had to finally hook up power to the TEC given the heat:
Here's a temperature graph of inside the housing and outside. 7/14 and before, you can see inside of the housing follows the outside exactly with the interior always running about 10 to 12F higher than the exterior. This is due to the...
FYI, the difference between the DS-2DF8236I5X and the DS-2DF8236IX is that the former is the laser IR. Same firmware for both cameras which are in the H3 series.
If I use dev tools in Edge and uncheck none-important, the exposure level shows up but it just snaps back to 0 when dragging it right or typing anything into the value box.
So yea. 180511 is a massive improvement over 200628. Their hacked version has something that really messes with auto tracking. 180511 brings it back to on par with 5.4.9. Now if I can just figure out how to get the exposure setting back. IE compatibility mode no longer works in developer mode.
Installing the 180511 build now. One obvious improvement in smart tracking over 5.6.0 is that the camera no longer zooms in first and then tracks. My 5.4.9 cameras all center their subjects first at the start of a track and THEN zoom in. 5.6.0 breaks this resulting in almost every track...
I just applied this firmware to my DS-2DF8236I5X-AELW(not quite the same as DS-2DF8236IX-AELW) which I thought was exactly the same as boomer53a's but then realized there's an extra 5 between the 6 and X.
Rebooted fine and everything seems OK but the exposure level setting is still missing...
Most of us? I seriously doubt that. I have 5 cameras facing my cul-de-sac from different angles and with the exception of the trackers, the LPs are clear coming and going on the left and right sides of the frame and WORST in the middle. The trackers rarely get the LP in the center of the frame...
Still on DS for now. Would be very interested in switching to CP if I could white list license plates and only be notified of vehicles that drive in our cul-de-sac that aren't vehicles with recognized license plates....just like OpenALPR can do.
I'm going to test with WDR and sacrifice frame rate to see if it improves license plates that are very brightly lit. Even with highlight compensation set and reducing exposure by 1.0, plates sometimes are too bright to read about 20% of the time. The Hikvision trackers I have are amazing at not...
