The drawback of SmartEnconing is that IVD functions are not available in this mode. Looks like Smart Encoding uses all CPU resourses...

Few days ago I have upgraded my cams to latest chinese firmware 34R.20160801. If has one great feature - h.264+ Smart Encoding. If significantly reduces network traffic and disk space consumption. I dont know now that did If but If really works. You can get latest chinese firmware for your cams...

Is it possible to read firmware from one camera and flash it to another?

My seller has sent me the chinese firmware but it is very old: General_IPC-HX4(2)X2X-Themis_Chn_P_Stream3_V2.400.0000.4.R.20150321

I think this is because it is different language firmware. You can load it using NCOM+TFTP but I think it will not work on chinese camera...

In this 10.R firmware you can select both 2560*1440 and 2688*1520 resolutions. And in 2688*1520 you'll have a wider angle of view so I think that it has true 4Mp sensor
