    SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ preset issues

Gotcha. Glad to know I'm not the only one with the issue. And I agree - the form factor is perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I guess I'll just learn to live with it until something nicer comes out!

Interesting. I'll do that and report back. Anyone have any disassembly tips?

    SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ preset issues

I picked up a SD1A404XB-GNR PTZ from @EMPIRETECANDY last week. Neat little PTZ, great for smaller spaces. Though I have an issue that I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed. I've set up some presets but I have a couple of them in particular that don't always return to the same location, even...

Great work, Andy. I'm a web developer so I'll take a look at the site to see if I have any suggestions!

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

For sure. The way that the autotracking PTZs work now along with BI and spotter cams seem to be a great solution for most "prosumers".

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Right  Well, I'm working on adding "poor man's autotracking" features to Frigate to do object tracking with any PTZ. Frigate is already really fast at tracking objects (not just humans and vehicles), and it doesn't seem like it would be too far fetched to get something working.

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Thanks for those videos, @bigredfish. Exactly what I was looking for. Would that be the ideal behavior of an autotracking PTZ? In your first video, would you rather have had the camera back off of the man with the hat to get the two bike riders in the frame as well, and then once they exit...

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

Definitely helpful @wittaj. I wonder what would have happened if the two people had appeared at the same time but at different ends of the frame... The spotter cam would have picked them both up, but maybe it's a tossup as to which one the ptz would have started tracking?

    PTZ autotracking with multiple people?

For those of you who have an autotracking PTZ from Andy, what have you observed as far as the default behavior when multiple people to be tracked are in the frame? Will the camera zoom and attempt to keep both of the people in the frame? Will it only focus on the closest or furthest one? Or on...

[Paper] Spying on the Spy: Security Analysis of Hidden Cameras

Great paper! I bought the camera pictured last year in an attempt to see if I could pull a live stream off of it, and I was shocked when I was able to view things like wifi credentials and camera password all in unencrypted JSON over UDP. The Aliexpress seller advertised it as a 4k camera, but...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

It's a messy hack emulating the web interface with some Python code. It would not be intuitive for the average user to set up. So let's hope Dahua comes through with changes to the HTTP API.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

48 hours in, and I'm actually happier with this cam now. Andy has contacted Dahua on my behalf to take a look at the Chrome/Mac issue for drawing IVS rules (Chrome on Windows works fine). I've also found a way to set day/night profiles externally without the HTTP API (web developer experience...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Thank you Andy, this is why we buy cams from you - you continue to be a great support to us and advocate for our needs with Dahua! I just tried to draw some IVS lines using the latest version of Chrome for Mac - Version 114.0.5735.90 (Official Build) (arm64). I can begin drawing a line, but...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Right. That's unfortunate, it doesn't seem like it would be that much of an issue, at least from a technical standpoint.

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

So after 24 hours with this cam thanks to the Memorial Day sale with @EMPIRETECANDY, there are a few things I really like, but a few other things leave me a little bit underwhelmed or really annoyed by. So here's a quick bit on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the SD4A425DB-HNY: The good: 1)...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Gotcha. I guess I'll do that then. Such a bummer that the software is what hinders these cams like this. The hardware is so good. I understand we're not the intended market, but still... a software regression in the business world would be a big deal.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Reading through old threads and came across this, @wittaj. I'm coming from web 4.0 on my 5442's to 5.0 now on my PTZ. Are you setting your Day and Night profile settings differently and then just using these API calls to swap profiles? That's the way it works on my 5442's, but these calls don't...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

I have Windows installed on a virtual machine on an old Mac, and I'm just firing that up now to see if I can get something going there. Because the Mac is so old and Windows is running on a VM, it's so unbelievably slow. It's taken 10 minutes now to get the ActiveX plugin installed for IE. I'll...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Right. Based on your advice, that was the very first thing I did. Powered it up on the bench, installed SD card, then factory reset. Hung the cam outside, went in and tried to start configuring IVS lines. And that's when I ran into the issue. :(

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

They do, actually. But the same thing is happening on Pale Moon. I'm following the video Andy posted () and the second I start clicking more than 3 times on a tripwire line, I can't make any more lines or points. Then hitting Apply gives me a "Please draw graphics" error message. Anyone run...

    Review-SD4A425DB-HNY 1/2.8" CMOS 4MP 25x Starlight Auto-tracking MiniPTZ

Got my SD4A425DB-HNY from the Memorial Day sale and installed it today. Picture is excellent, the cam's size is not too obtrusive and I'm looking forward to getting things dialed in for autotracking and trying some LPR! I'm already running into a hiccup though, and I think it's browser-related...
