New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Great news. Interesting I have been using Google AI too here. Most of it though is from here on the forum. Thinking my spontaneous change to AP mode was due to taxing the CPU on the Video Doorbell. I use Ruckus AP's here and have three where as I only really need one. What was happening was...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So set the SSID and password to your home WAP initially using DHCP. Also change the admin password and create a new user. Rebooting it will connect to your home WAP. Here used a Lenova Tiny running WIndows 2016 server. It has a WLAN card and it is connected to the LAN via Ethernet port. I...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

There is a referral to an article here in the forum posts above as to why the DB goes to AP mode. For me it was too many calls to the DB to my touchscreens. Now using a proxy and do not get any resets. I saved the password here and IP under batch configuration as it is always the same to...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So I infer from your elaboration that you are managing user additions from the "bottom" section of batch config. For further clarity I enclose photos of my Batch Config Tool showing what my understanding of your explanation is. So the user adds are from the top section. I just registered the...

What I see in the directory for Batch Configuration is 3.0.2.3. When I am running it and look I see 3.0.2.6. I do have it registered on the bottom section of batch configuration. I do not add the user under the ONVIF configuration. I add it under the system user section.

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Thinking back ONVIF did not work until I enabled it with the batch configuration program. It was only an option on Batch Configuration 3.0.2.3. I did also use a Linux ONVIF editor which only partially worked. https://github.com/Quedale/OnvifDeviceManager

Note running the above mentioned Batch Configuration will trigger an update on the application. Do not update. You will lose functionality. There is stuff hard coded in the firmware which cannot be changed.

Your ASUS RT-AX1800S also does wireguard (here also run Wireguard and OpenVPN server on PFSense). It is similiar to setting up OpenVPN server. I used AI to search for the configuration of the ASUS SOHO router. I have not used a SOHO router in 20 years except for modification / updating OS to...

Help with vlan, vpn or whatever

Using AI... A VPN (Virtual Private Network) service provider offers a service that creates a secure, encrypted tunnel between your device and a remote server. This tunnel encrypts your internet traffic, hides your IP address, and masks your location, offering privacy, security, and the ability...

Network Gremlins - Need Some Help

Assuming that the cams are POE. Any of them outside? 1 - test each cable end to end connecting to the 4 port switch and to each cam with a network cable tester. 2 - try a different 4 port POE switch (guessing that is what they are). maybe the switch is over heating. Are the switches Gb or...

What is a good doorbell camera system with no monthly fee?

I built a brick mailbox. Neighbor said it was easy to do. It wasn't. Wired the brick mailbox and put motion sensors and cameras in it. Put a mailbox with a keylock on it. Used the cameras in the mailbox and cameras in the front of the house. This was before video doorbells. Neighbors...

Linux Software Needed to Repeat RTSP

I am using GitHub - snowzach/rts2p: RTSP Proxy Server rtsp proxy server in HA for my doorbell. Works in docker too. I do not believe it stores 5 minutes of video though. You can install Zoneminder (which I use) on an RPi to work with one stream. RTS2P - RTSP Stream Proxy This is a simple...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

Just an FYI. I have not had any issues with my 24 port managed TP-Link switches, 4, 8 and POE port managed switches in years. Here also utilizing a PFSense firewall with multiple LAN / WAN ports connected to a broadband cable modem. I came from the commercial Cisco world for work and...

POE Cameras going offline everyday at the same time

I would assume that it is a faulty POE switch rather than a faulty POE camera. My guess is that the replacement POE switch will work and that the cameras did not get damaged. BTW I worked on the Milan Airport (MXP) when it was getting rebuilt in the late 1990's / early 2000's. It is a work...
