I've recovered my NVR via serial connection. It was pain in the butt though. F..king Dahua made with this v4.001 impossible to go back and if you do you screw-up the device.

I see you have the same NVR as I do. Did you notice any issue with IMOHU or Smart PSS connection wit this new version 4? Mine was losing connection to cameras and disconnecting after less then a minute. This never happened with V3.216.

Good for you. Don't try to downgrade back to v3.216. It will brick the NVR.

How stupid was I when deiced to give another try to update my NVR4104 to the newer version 4. I had issues every time with it, but was able to downgrade NVR back to v3.216. This time even after reading your post I did the same try and got the exact issue you have - it boots up with Dahua logo...

We can try to challenge Dahua o their NVR ONVIF 2.4 certification. If they blocked these Chinese Dahua cameras which used a Private protocol, they can't block the connection over ONVIF. This is an OPEN network protocol. But since the NVR also blocks these cameras over ONVIF- that means that...

I feel your pain. Luckily I have only one camera not working after the upgrade. If your cameras firmware is not signed ( before 2018) you might be able to flash the cameras back to modded English version. Otherwise you might be looking at different NVR.

Can't. I have tried it. After this particular version Dahua closed the door. Can't downgrade. The NVR. Neither cameras. Looks like I've made a big mistake buying Dahua cameras and NVR.

How to reverse the bootloader? I have found this "UBOOT_commonSwRsaVerify" function. Or at least was able to see this name when the camera booted. I'm not sure what analysis I should be able to make? Version 1.4 is the minimum one allowed to be loaded?

The serial interface is still OK. I switched from PC to RPi. Now I don't see gibberish anymore. However when trying to send files over TFTP I'm getting the following message after sending completion: " ER0002:The IMG header be changed!" Any ideas? Thank you.

I tried different serial adapters: one FTDI USB to RS232, second PCMCIA. Also tried different boudrates. Probably neither adaptet was suitable. I will try to buy a new one which was listed at the beginning of the tread. Thanks a lot.
