    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I have tried Microsoft Edge, Firefox and Pale Moon on several computers. All exhibit the same, no partial zoom. It is possible to do a partial zoom by going to the NVR's> settings>camera> camera list > click particular camera "webpage"/ log into camera/ Settings/Camera/zoom & focus/. I wish...

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

I have 9 of these and it looks like Dahua firmware upgrade to V4.001.xxxxxxxx.x.R or later partially kills the zoom function. Instead of being able to partially zoom in and out, now you can only zoom fully out or in.

EmpireTech latest New firmware, Device Guide video, Manual WEB5.0

Fully aware of potential problems. But I wished there was a notice that some Dahua cameras features such as PTZ were no longer supported. Now I have 7 cameras that won't partially zoom, unless I connect directly to the camera (requires virtual host to be turn on).

When I upgraded the firmware on my NVR5208-8P=4KS2 to DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.6R and above, I lost the capability to partially zoom in and out on the 6 IPC=HDW2231R=ZS (firmware 2.800.0000004.0R.2019-01-22) cameras that I purchased from you. Previous firmware versions allowed...

    Will this even work?

I installed my NVR at a location that was practically impossible to run ethernet cable to. So for a couple years I used a spare router setup as a Wireless Bridge (with DD-WRT firmware installed) connected to my NVR system with 8 cameras. I had good WiFi signal at both the NVR and my...

Your first line of defense is to run any of the good antivirus software which will detect and eliminate any key loggers, Trojans, and viruses.

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

Still, Dahua should disclose this in their documentation and state the purpose, and what data is being sent back and forth. P2P is off, and all ports are closed. Firewalla set to block all outgoing and incoming connections except for mine. I remember setting up a honeypott years ago that was...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I was going to purchase a N100 mini computer and install OPSense (Linux install), but instead I purchase the little Firewalla Purple SE (I don't need wifi) but does have BlueTooth. I really like the Firewalla Purple SE, it is easy to configure and I love being able to access it from my...

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

WTH! I installed a firewall in front of my NVR5208-8P-4KS2E, (firmware V4.002.0000000.7.R.240717) and noticed it continually tries to contact many Dahua servers, including their international servers in China and Europe. Nowhere do I find any information, documents or warning that the NVR will...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

I had the exact problems several weeks ago. I ended up installing a Firewalla Purple firewall. I thought about purchasing a firewall appliance and install OPNsense which has a learning curve for proper setup. So instead bought the Firewall, It stopped the penetration into my NVR. I did have...

Multiple Dahua locations trying to gain access to NVR

Thank you for the explanation. I disabled all port forwarding on my main ISP router. I did a open port scan from my public IP address side and everything looks closed now. I still like to know why Dahua from multiple locations are accessing the NVR.

Dahua V4.002.0000000.7.R, Build Date: 2024-07-17 firmware

Very true! That was why I was very hesitant to upgrade from V3.216.0000002.0.R.20181106 to most recent version. The only reason was for security updates. I did send an email to Dahua support notifying them of the issue (which probably will fall on deaf ears and not be dealt with).

Same thing happens in Edge IE mode. Interesting. In Palemoon a box pops up when I try to zoom stating "Need to control PTZ in the realtime monitoring status. " . Not sure why this is happening, I am in "Live mode when trying to zoom.
