Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

Did you get the port forwarding in the modem and Eero figured out?

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

I just watched the video. I stand by my statement, cheaper but in no way was that easier to setup than the Brume and still requires port forwarding. Cool little devices but I don’t really want to mess with command lines

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

Cheaper possibly. I don’t think it would necessarily be any easier. Ports still have to be forwarded and settings set correctly

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

That will be necessary. ZeroTier is always an option that doesn’t require forwarding any ports but I don’t think it works as well

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

I went with after but that’s because my router is a dual wan, so if my dsl connection goes down it will switch to the t-mobile home internet. If that happens I have to use ZeroTeir, so in my situation the Brume has to be after the main router. I would plug the Brume into a Eero lan port and set...

Having any luck? if you haven’t already it may help to read through this https://docs.gl-inet.com/router/en/4/interface_guide/wireguard_server/

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

I don’t think that matters if the Brume is connected to a wan port on the Eero, assuming it’s basically a router? I have mine plugged into my router only using the wan port on the Brume, nothing is connected to the lan port. My modem is port forwarded to the router which is port forwarded to...

Need help setting up OpenVPN with fiber optic

I believe you need to forward 51820 UDP from the modem to the Brume. I don’t know anything about the Eero Gateway but the Brume may need to be behind it. As in modem-Eero Gateway-Brume. Then the 51820 forwarded to the EG which then forwards 51820 to the Brume

    1/1.8" cameras at night

For LPR I prefer 80-90% or even more when it’s a large vehicle. I’m only worried about the plate, other cameras get an overview. 25% is not enough if it’s a difficult plate

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

Just installed the 2022-11-15 firmware, figured it wouldn’t let me roll it back but worked fine. I lost IVS notifications. Reinstalled the 2023-12-5 firmware and IVS notifications started working again. Again I don’t know where I found it but shows I downloaded it on 1/23/24. Still doesn’t make...

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

I don't know where I found the firmware. I assumed Dahua International or DahuaWiki but I don't see it listed anywhere, who knows what random firmware I'm running on those units.

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

The first models I listed are 5xxx series 4KS2. The second firmware listed is for a 608 series XI The Lorex NVRs were manufactured in 2016 so they’re not new models for sure but the firmware works fine on them

Dahua/EmpireTech 5232-16P-4KS2E, x2 Lorex NR908-N All 3 have V4.002.1CKA000.0.R 2023-12-5 EmpireTech NVR32CH-8XI V4.000.0000000.5.R 2023-12-28 The 5xxxx series have always pushed IVS notifications even with earlier firmware with P2P disabled. The 608 series (NVR32CH-8XI) will not push IVS...

Trouble connecting to TIOC camera via web

Try deleting everything after the ip address and port number then it should load the login page for the camera. There is a time limit so you may have to close the browser, login to the NVR, click the blue e, and then try using only the ip address and port number assigned by the NVR.

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

Now I will recommend a factory default for sure before updating. You will probably also have to find an earlier version of 4.0 first, and then update to the latest version. DahuaWiki may have older versions. I’ve never had any issues but remember updating is how some end up bricking their devices

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

Which doesn’t make sense because the 5xxx-4KS2 NVRs I have added to DMSS via IP/Domain push IVS notifications with P2P disabled. Almost has to be if they added it via QR code

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

With P2P being enabled unfortunately I don’t really have any other suggestions. It’s the same issue I am having, Motion Detection and SMD notifications work but no IVS unless P2P is enabled. Of course there’s always a factory default that sometimes solves abnormal behavior but I don’t think...

Only MD will Push to DMSS - Not IVS...

Are you using P2P or adding the NVR via IP address? I’m having the same issue on one of my NVRs. All of my NVRs are added to DMSS via IP and I do not use P2P but can only get IVS notifications if P2P is enabled even though it shows offline in the settings

    DMSS & Push Notifications

That’s a whole different problem for me, if the test works in the email section of the NVR they work reliably and the router logs an outgoing hit on port 587 to gmail. If the test fails there’s nothing in the log like the NVR didn’t even try to send one

    DMSS & Push Notifications

That’s the only camera I use SMD on. It’s zoomed in on my back parking area, if anybody is back there I a SMD notification, if somebody goes through the gate I get an IVS notification. Used to use the IVS as an email notification too but they’re so unreliable lately I just turned them off (email...

They’re both added to DMSS via IP. Lorex (basically a 5208-8P-4KS2 now) V4.002.1CKA000.0.R, Build Date: 12-05-2023

All ports but 53,123, and 8888 outgoing blocked. NVR8CH is a Lorex with Dahua firmware, P2P disabled. NVR608 is the new one, P2P has to be enabled for IVS. P2P enabled on 608 P2P disabled on 608

    DMSS & Push Notifications

Number 5 blocks ALL outgoing traffic from my NVRs and cameras. 1 allows the NVRs to connect to a time server, 2 DNS (only needed on NVR restart), 3 email outgoing (gave up since it was not reliable), 4 is the port necessary for notifications.

    DMSS & Push Notifications

Is port 8888 blocked by your firewall? If P2P is working you have to have ports unblocked by your firewall Again I'm not talking about port forwarding, the only port I ever forward is the single port required for my VPN to work.
