Putting two new cameras online soon... settings question

I noticed that, have you ever tried it? Is there any documentation that shows what settings are included in the file? Thanks

Putting two new cameras online soon... settings question

Is there a way to export settings from an existing same model and same firmware camera and import them to a new camera? It's pretty tedious going through each and every setting to make sure I have everything set up like the others. Thanks

    Dahua Turret best buy

Speaking of which, I'd like to consider fixed lens as well. Is there a calculator that converts varifocal zoom number to the nearest fixed lens?

    Direct burial cable recommendation

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've ordered a better tester that will tell me which pairs are shorted. It can estimate where the short is. I'm sure that's probably not very accurate. If I can find the damage, I'll patch it temporarily while I run new conduit the length of the run.

So all things considered for a buried run of this length, Cat5e is just fine? Thanks for the reply.

    Direct burial cable recommendation

It’s been almost 8 years since we built our house. At that time, I ran several Cat5e runs to outdoor cameras using direct burial cable. Just recently I’ve had issues with one camera that’s ~270 feet from the PoE switch in the garage. Cable tester shows there’s a short somewhere. Rather than...

I have a situation that I would like any of you network gurus to consider

That something I was going to try. Looks like I'll be ordering a new camera from Andy. Is the 54IR still the best all around?

I have a situation that I would like any of you network gurus to consider

Yes, it happened all of the sudden. In the past few minutes, I tried an old PoE switch I had on hand. Using the Extend Mode it was able to connect. However, the connection was too slow and clips were very choppy with stuttering in them.

I have a situation that I would like any of you network gurus to consider

I looked at the 54IR connector. The pins weren't shiny like new, but I didn't see any obvious corrosion. I also replaced the ends on the cable and that didn't change the results. That 54IR has been in service for probably 3 years or so with no issues.

I have a situation that I would like any of you network gurus to consider

I have a POE switch in my garage, and from that switch a 200 foot ethernet cable to a 54IR camera from Andy. A few days ago this camera quit working and showed no signal in Blue Iris and I was also unable to connect to it via a web browser. I took an very old spare camera that I had and...

    54IR operating temperature

I was adjusting one of my 54IRs today and notice the outside of the camera ball felt pretty hot. I got my thermal heat measuring gun and it showed the temperature to be 127°. Is that within the range? Thanks

Question about IVS alerts from camera via ONVIF

I’m using onboard IVS triggers from my 54IRs to trigger alerts in BI via ONVIF. Recently, I’ve decided to play around and see how UniFi Protect works, since I have a full UniFi network. Protect supports third party cameras by using ONVIF to receive alerts from each adopted camera. In order...

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

You have to buy an AI Port for each third party camera, right?

It looks like better ONVIF support is coming to UniFi Protect

Yeah, Protect must report them differently for some reason. I don't expect to stop using BI, Since I have a Unifi network, I thought I'd just play around with Protect to see how the third party camera support worked.

As a test, I adopted 12 of my 54IRs this afternoon. It's strange that some show up as HD and others as 2K.
